“So how do we make money in this business?” How would you, the Owner, answer that question posed to you by one of your employees? Would a full, honest answer involve revealing your “secret sauce,” the key differentiator of your business? What do your people need to know? Whatever happened to the exit strategy?

It shouldn’t take a hurricane to get us to think about our insurance coverage. But it does. Hopefully it’s only a moment’s pause — Am I adequately covered? — then on to the next subject. The larger question, however, is not about the roof being blown off or the power outage, but about the whole range of risk exposure.
